The United States is at the brink, so you might as well not be shocked when it tips.

We have reached a level of criticality that I could not have dreamed of, except for that time I wrote an article addressing exactly this specific atmosphere developing.

To quickly recap, my fear at the time (2017) was that our society was more and more growing into a system where one party (out of our two party system), the republican party, was increasingly creating an environment where they began to treat everything they say as fact, and subsequently deeming everything Democrats say as false. It should be fairly obvious why this is so dangerous where it to continue to get worse.

And of course… of course the situation became even worse that. Now, I’m skipping over all the explanations describing how we got here but there should be no doubt in anyone's mind, this was the work of Republicans. Specifically Republicans who at some point decided, they simply don’t care about the truth, and that the only thing that matters is power. But none of that really matters at this point because we are past a point of easy return. Which leaves us with the situation.

The situation as it stands is this. A vast vast majority of the Republican party, both officials and regular supporters, have officially been conditioned and have conditioned themselves into a state of living, where any truth that disagrees with any position their “team” has. Not only is taken as a lie outright, but just the fact that a topic is being brought up, is taken as an attack. It’s so engrained, it’s not even hard to prove using people who are from completely different parts of the country. Ask most Republicans about the group of people who attacked the capitol and they will automatically create any and every excuse under the sun, all in the name of denying the reality of the situation. And there is no end to it. First, the crowd was infiltrated by democrats (No democrats have been arrested), well now what happened wasn’t as bad as it seems (People died). But not that many died. It’s just a never ending game, which is never ending because the people defending it, have been trained to “always win”. And how do you always win? Well you create a new reality where you’re winning.

January 6th is just an obvious example, but at this point these people use this defense regarding any and everything. To support policies they know most people don’t agree with, or when dealing with things happing in the country which signal big problems. Which brings me to my point.

Today the Speaker of the House, second in line to the presidency of the United States, had her house broken into by a Republican, and her husband attacked by the same man. I should be clear about two things. One, I am no Pelosi superfan, or even just fan. In fact as a younger Democrat I honestly wish she left office a long time ago, along with many in her generation which have sat in seats for decades in what is, lets face it, basically an act of greed. And two, I would like to emphasize that I’m not going to call the man who did this a criminal, a terrorist, or some other descriptor because I think it would severely defeat my purpose. What’s most important, is that it is known, the man who did this is a Republican.

There are several reasons why it’s very important that people understand this sticking point. Part of the way we got into this mess in the first place, is that the only other party that could have reined in or tried to rein in this downturn, are Democrats. But because Democrats (at least traditionally) are, and have been for the longest time, obsessed with this false notion that they NEED to always think about bipartisanship. It has locked them out of saying what’s needed to be said all for the sake of “bipartisanship”. So while rises in radical Republican terrorist actions have taken place over time, leader after leader refused to call it what it was. You can still see this old delusion as recent as in the 2020 election. Where despite all that was happening, people like Joe Biden, where still saying things like. “I plan on working across the isle when I’m president”. While reality asks… “Across the isle? With who?”. When Republicans have demonstrated repeatedly that they are willing to vote No almost unanimously if the bill even vaguely sounds like a Democratic bill. Or delusions as recent as when, even after January 6th, Nancy Pelosi herself some how said out loud in all seriousness “this country needs a strong Republican party, and we do, not a cult, but a strong Republican party.” all while failing to realize. It is exactly that “Strong Republican Party” that created what we have today. It wasn’t magically just Trump as she seemingly likes to pretend it is. Long before Trump was, Newt Gingrich, Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh, and many many more.

The other reason why I believe it’s important that it’s known that this man was a Republican before all else, is because of how much of a template we can all see he had. Might he have had more mental issues than usual? Sure. But that’s not really the problem. The problem is, with what’s believed by so many, are mental issues even necessary in order to go out and act against your perceived threat. I ask my readers to think to themselves honestly. What would you be willing to do if you honestly, and completely believed things like, a whole election was stolen by a specific group. Or that specific leaders might be abusing kids. Now consider that millions of people truly and unequivocally believe these same things.

Ultimately, this potential for more, is why this matters. Because of this, the United States is seriously on the brink, no matter who you are. Democrat, Republican, just completely uninterested in politics. I wish I could tell you in all honesty that this new reality will not effect you. But it will. People in general tend to have this comfort in their minds thinking, things will just work out, or that our government has plans for things that they absolutely don’t. We should all be very aware. No the government doesn’t have a plan if hundreds of thousands of people decide to say, attack polling places to destroy or steal physical ballots. No the government doesn't have a plan for a situation where leaders start getting killed in a random but repetitive nature. And even worse is that if the people who believe these things, if the people who live in these alternate realities become powerful enough, there will be no government to have a plan. Consider a country as big as the United States, run by people who would sooner govern by what they think is satanic, than what we all consider to be sane critical thinking. Make sure you understand what’s happening to our country, lest it take you by surprise.

At this point, I could beg readers to just vote democrat no matter what they do, but not only do I fear it’s too late. I already know how that concept is treated traditionally. “You don’t just blindly vote for one party”. Well here’s the wake up call, if you’re looking for the only option we have at having a chance to save this democracy. That's exactly it. Because as it stands today? There isn’t one republican on any ballot anywhere, that's going to do one damn thing to stop this downturn.
